Jean-Pierre Jeunet.

A Very Long Engagement (2004)

City of Lost Children (1995)

Delicatessen (1991)

Amélie (2001)

I absolutely adore Jeunet's films, they're all so whimsical and fantastical. I've only watched AVLE and COLC once each, which is bad of me I know, but I do plan to watch them again. Amélie is one of my all time favourite films, I really love Audrey Tatou and Dominique Pinon (who stars in most of Jeunet's films). I recommend them all

It's the little details that really make these films - the character descriptions in Amélie, the way something happens from a minute occurrence and leads you to the main action in City of Lost Children - lovely. In a way, the films have a childlike air to them, an innocence that just makes me feel happy every time I watch them. I really need to do some artwork based on these films.

Hollywood, glitz and glamour.

Mae West

Katharine Hepburn

Ginger Rogers

Clark Gable

Cary Grant

Fred Astaire

And of course, James Stewart.

First Post, yeah! I wanted to start things swimmingly and what better way to do that than appease your eyes with some beautiful images of gorgeous dames and dapper gents from the Golden Age of Hollywood. I could name a few films that I would reccommend but honestly, I need to watch a hell of a lot more to come up with an awesome list. However, a few favourites would include - Bringing Up Baby, Philadelphia Story, It's a Wonderful Life, Harvey...and I'd say any musical number with the pairing of Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire.

Anyway, the point of all of this? I suppose it's just a little place for me to post things that inspire me - and possibly a few things that have spurned from my own creativity. I love pictures of interesting things and quotes from films. I love animals, especially the weird and wonderful, and I love music. A lot of things inspire me, but sometimes I need a little more...so that's it in a nutshell really. Hopefully, other people will stumble across this and be as inspired by these things as I have been.

Love, Venus xxx
